I Fell Into a Fountain and Rare Perspective Co Turned It Into a Shirt

So here's a fun thing that happens when you are low vision: sit down on what you're sure is a marble bench, scoot back to get comfy, and discover it's actually the retaining wall of a fully functioning public fountain. In front of everyone. On video.

That story — my Hard Rock Casino fountain incident — is this month's Eyece Breaker Spotlight from Rare Perspective Co, in partnership with the Foundation Fighting Blindness. Every month, they turn one real moment from someone's life with vision loss into a shirt. This July, that someone is me.

I got to go deeper than just the fountain story too — talking about why I'm not giving up tennis (BLV tennis is very much on my radar), the accommodations I make every day without even clocking them, and the misconception I most want people to drop: that vision loss is all-or-nothing. It's not. I can see one thing clearly and completely miss another, and that's just how it works.

The best part? A portion of every Eyece Breaker shirt sold goes toward the Foundation Fighting Blindness. So my most embarrassing moment is now doing something useful.

Got your own "I definitely could not see that" moment? RPC wants to hear it too — submissions are open at RarePerspectiveCo.com/Submit.
