Hi, I’m Samantha Murphy founder of 305 Hive® Media and now, the voice behind Blindish in Miami.
In 2025, I learned that I have Usher syndrome, the leading genetic cause of combined deafness and blindness. It was a life-changing diagnosis, but not one I intend to face quietly. Instead, I created Blindish in Miami as a space to share my story, raise awareness, and connect with others navigating vision and hearing challenges.
Here you’ll find honest reflections, resources, and insights — all through my lens of living with Usher syndrome. My goal is simple: to shed light on the realities of progressive vision and hearing loss while
celebrating resilience, community, and hope.
I believe that being “blindish” doesn’t mean being defined by limitations. It means adapting, embracing new perspectives, and continuing to live fully, right here in beautiful Miami, surrounded by a community I love.
